Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: Ubisoft CEO regrets early release
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently revealed in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz (via VGC) that he believed Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope was released “too early” and should have waited for the next Nintendo console. Guillemot talks about the future of the developer and his thoughts on the cosmic sequel. Interestingly, Guillemot also revealed that Ubisoft received some wise advice from Nintendo: “better to do one iteration on each machine.” Although there are many differences between Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope, it is an interesting comment considering that five years had passed between the original game and the sequel. Guillemot also mentioned that Ubisoft believes Sparks of Hope “will run for ten years” and the developer plans to “update it for the new machine that will appear in the future.”
In terms of DLC, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is not over yet. Earlier today, we reported that details of the second DLC ‘The Last Hunter of Sparks’ had surfaced online. Additionally, we still have the final DLC with Rayman ahead of us.
