Now celebrate 25 years since the release of Counter-Strike. It is not impossible that Valve, the game’s developer, recently released an update known as The Real MVP. This surprise June update comes with five new community-designed maps spanning multiple game modes, a first in CS2.
Exciting New Content for CS2
New Maps and Updates
The Real MVP patch includes two new maps added to the CS2 Competitive pool: Thera, designed by FMPONE, and Mills. Thera is based on the classic Santorini map and Mills takes place in the streets of a Dutch town.
Additionally, two new maps designed for Wingman mode have been introduced: Memento, set in an Italian village by the sea, and Assembly, located in an aircraft hangar. Finally, CS2’s first Arms Race map, Pool Day, offers players a new space to battle in.
Improved MVP System
Valve has also revamped the MVP UI system, with a shiny new MVP card appearing after each round. The card features unique custom animations for multikills, plants, defuses, and grenade damage in Premier mode.
Ranking Adjustments and Bugfixes
Players will now only need two wins to earn a rank in CS2 Competitive mode, making the process more accessible. The update also includes a variety of bugfixes and new video settings.
While this is not a full operation, the June 25 CS2 update promises a fresh experience with new maps and features. Players can check out the full patch notes to learn more.
